A Prayer for our Diocese (BCP, page 817)
O God, by your grace you have called us in this Diocese of Massachusetts to a goodly fellowship of faith. Bless our Bishops, Alan and Gayle, and other clergy, and all the people. Grant that your Word may be truly preached and truly heard, your Sacraments faithfully administered and faithfully received. By your Spirit, fashion our lives according to the example of your Son, and grant that we may show the power of your love to all among whom we live; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
As followers of Jesus, we live our faith and our lives in communion with other Christians. We are together, the Body of Christ, as our faith teaches us. As Episcopalians, we also live our faith as part of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion. It is a particular expression of Christian faith, with roots in England and in the founding of the United States. Organized
by dioceses, (ours is the eastern part of Massachusetts), bishops are our leaders, caring for all the parishes and people in the diocese. We are blessed to have Bishop Alan Gates with us tomorrow at the 10 am service to preach and celebrate, followed by a zoom conversation at 11.30 am. Please join us in person or on-line at trinityconcord.org/livestream. And pray for our Bishops and all our brothers and sisters in Christ in our Diocese as we serve in Christ’s name together.
Blessings,
Nancy+
