CJ Coppersmith grew up in the mountains of Pennsylvania, and after college lived in Pittsburgh for ten years.   He attended Calvary Episcopal Church until hired as a paid chorister at Shadyside Presbyterian Church.   Moving to Massachusetts with his wife Rachel in 1986, they moved to Concord in 1990, and raised two sons, Nathan and Daniel, in Concord.  Nathan is a surgical resident at Yale New Haven Hospital where he lives with his wife Jeannette, and Daniel is a doctoral student and suicide prevention researcher at Harvard University.   Rachel is originally trained in child psychology and now decorates cakes in West Concord.   CJ attended St. Mary’s Church in Newton Lower Falls for many years, serving as a chorister, Vestry member, DRE and subdeacon.   During this time he received a Master of Divinity degree in Theology at the Episcopal Divinity School.  In June of 2019 CJ was invited to postulancy for the priesthood.

 

CJ has worked for over 35 years in the IT industry, covering security, various aspects of development operations, and technology incubation.  He has held CTO positions in Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computer Corporation, HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. 

 

CJ also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University.

 

CJ and Rachel can be seen walking their Shetland Sheepdog, Bear, through the streets of Concord.
