Celebration Thank you!

Dear Trinity friends,

My heart is full of gratitude for the wonderful celebration we shared on Sunday marking seven years of ministry together at Trinity.  As Bishops Alan and Carol said in their letter sent to the parish for this occasion "In holy scripture the number seven has many sacred associations. There are the seven days of creation; the seven-year jubilee for the poor; the seven churches in Revelation; the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit; and more! Seven years, thus, marks a significant milestone in your life together as priest and people at Trinity Church."  (See full letter below)

It is a significant milestone for all of us, and it was delightful to have  the opportunity to consider together the arc of the past seven years in community and to honor all that we have done and prayed for, celebrated and created over the past seven years.  Of course this period included the global pandemic, as well as the challenges of a changing church and world.  AND Trinity's response was one of the most creative and innovative periods in our ministry.  We did not miss one service, and rapidly adapted our technology to provide on-line worship, with a virtual choir, outdoor Sunday services, Baptisms and funerals, Communion wafers for home use, a caring phone tree, and many other ways we stayed connected and faithful throughout.  Trinity  came through this disorienting time stronger, more committed and enthusiastic about our fellowship and service in the world.

For the past several years we have focused on Renewing Joy and welcoming new friends and families into our life together, as we find our way forward into a new season.   Rev. Julia joined us as Minister for Youth and Families, and Fr. CJ joined us as Assistant Rector.  It is my great privilege to work alongside these dedicated clergy, and the rest of our amazing staff.  Each of them and each of you bring your whole selves to our work, offering your gifts and skills, your presence and your prayers in so many ways.  Together, we are the church!  As I say every Sunday "whether you are here in person or joining via the livestream, together we are ONE Body in Christ."

Sunday's celebration with its delicious food, beautiful flowers, moving tributes, and outpouring of love was the embodiment of Trinity's loving approach to our shared ministry.  Ever generous with your gifts and talents, we celebrated an amazing journey even as we look forward with hope and delight to today and tomorrow and what God holds in store for us for the future.  Special thanks to Sr. Warden, David Weiss and Administrative Coordinator, Beth Confrancisco and the many others of you who made Sunday's celebration so special for all of us. It meant a great deal to me and to my family to mark this anniversary. Thank you one and all!

I am honored to serve as your rector, and am deeply grateful for the celebration, for the lovely gift, and for your continued prayers for this church we love.

Forward together in faith!
