Bala Brass Quintet in July 14 Concert

BALA BRASS QUINTET presents a concert of music for brass and organ on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 4 PM as part of the monthly summer "Tea & Music" series at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street in Concord MA.   Bala Brass, an ensemble-in-residence at Trinity, includes Christopher Hawes (director) and Seelan Manickam, trumpets; Kristen Dirmeier, horn; Roger Flatt, trombone and Adam Porter, tuba.  Trinity's music director Robert Barney will join the quintet on organ for part of this exciting program.  Tea is served in the Parish Hall following the music. Suggested donation for this refreshment for body and spirit is just $5. Award-winning Bala Brass brings infectious spirit and enthusiasm to its performances. A brass quintet dedicated to furthering the art of brass music performance, Bala was the first group of its kind to be invited to participate in the Osaka (Japan) International Chamber Music Festa in Japan and has scored in the top three in the Fischoff and Coleman Chamber Music Competitions. Continuing its drive to promote brass chamber music, Bala actively commissions new works for the genre.
